Why Origin for Web Development & CMS

Core Web Vitals are non-negotiable

LCP, CLS, and INP are measured before launch, not after. We don't ship sites that fail on performance — it's built into every decision.

Editors trained, not just handed a CMS

We run an editor onboarding session for every project. Your team publishes confidently from day one, not after a month of support tickets.

Technical SEO baked in from the scaffold

Structured data, canonical URLs, sitemap, robots.txt, Open Graph — all configured before the first page goes live. No retrofitting.

Frequently asked questions

Which CMS do you recommend — Sanity, Contentful, or something else?
Depends on your editorial workflow and how structured your content is. Sanity is our default for most projects — it's flexible, developer-friendly, and has the best real-time editing experience. Contentful fits larger teams with complex localisation needs. For simpler sites with mostly page-based content, we sometimes use Prismic or even a custom headless WordPress setup. We'll recommend based on your actual workflow, not what we prefer to build in.
How do you achieve fast load times — our current site scores 30 on PageSpeed?
Usually the culprits are unoptimised images, render-blocking scripts, and too much JavaScript shipped to the client. We use Next.js App Router with server components (less JS on the client), next/image for automatic WebP conversion and lazy loading, and aggressive caching via Vercel's edge network. Most sites we rebuild go from PageSpeed scores in the 30s to 90+.
Can editors really update content without asking a developer?
Yes — that's the whole point of the CMS setup. Editors get a structured interface where they can update text, swap images, reorder sections, and publish changes without touching code. We spend time in the build configuring the CMS schema so it reflects how your team actually thinks about content, not how a developer would model a database.
Do you handle technical SEO as part of the build?
Yes. Canonical URLs, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, structured data (JSON-LD), Open Graph tags, and proper heading hierarchy are all part of the standard build. We don't do ongoing SEO content strategy — but we make sure the technical foundation is solid so any SEO work you do on top actually sticks.
We have an existing site — do you rebuild from scratch or can you improve what's there?
Both. For sites with messy, undocumented code or a fundamentally slow architecture (old WordPress with 40 plugins, for example), a rebuild is usually faster and cheaper than patching. For sites that are structurally sound but slow or outdated, we can refactor and optimise. We'll give you an honest recommendation after looking at what's there.
